Pizza is one of the most popular foods in America. Americans eat over 350 slices of pizza per second. That’s a lot of pizza! At Fazoli’s, our Pizzaiolos (Italian word for pizza maker) take pride in making our pizza each and every day in our restaurants.
The beginning to any great pizza is the crust. For some reason, some people don’t like the crust. In spirit with Italian tradition, we think it is important to make sure the crust tastes as good as the rest of the pizzas. Italians are so passionate about the outer exposed rim of the crust that they have a name for it, the cornicone. We brush our crust with our signature garlic butter—the same garlic butter we use on our breadsticks. We then top it with our signature pizza sauce. Our sauce is made with vine-ripened tomatoes and Italian seasonings.
Cheese is another important ingredient when making pizza. We use a blend of mozzarella and provolone cheeses. We use whole milk mozzarella instead of skim milk for maximum flavor. Many restaurants use skim milk mozzarella in an attempt to cut costs. This leads to cheese with less flavor and less meltability. The whole milk mozzarella ensures each slice of pizza is cheesy and perfectly melted. The provolone adds just a little extra kick of flavor.
America’s favorite pizza topping is without a doubt pepperoni. We top each one of our pizzas with 32 slices of pepperoni. This makes sure you get that delicious pepperoni flavor in every bite.
Whether you are buying a whole pizza, a double-slice, or just adding a slice to your pasta, we make sure every pizza you order is perfect at Fazoli’s.
